How Nezzie Came to Be
Nezzie started where most good hunting ideas do: sitting in a tree before daylight, waiting on something to walk out.
It came from four generations of hunting knowledge, passed down through early mornings in the stand and fireside talks with family. Founder and CEO Bass grew up in that tradition, and after more than 20 years in the woods, one thing kept standing out: a lot of hunting gear was close to right, but not quite. It rattled, got in the way, or just wasn’t made for how hunters actually hunt. Nezzie was started to fix that.
From the beginning, the goal was to build gear that earns its place. That meant learning CAD, working closely with manufacturers, and testing plastics and fabrics over and over until they held up. Every product is tried out in real southern woods, because if it doesn’t work in the field, it doesn’t matter how good it looks on paper.
That same thinking shaped the Nezzie camo. Most patterns are made for hardwoods, but a lot of southern hunters spend their seasons in planted pines. So Nezzie built patterns for exactly that: the pine plantations of the Southeast.
For Hunters by Hunters
Designed through real time in the woods and built to solve the problems hunters face where it matters most. If he wouldn’t trust it in his own stand, it doesn’t get the Nezzie name.
So Why NEZZIE?
Nezzie comes from Bass’s great-grandmother, Nezbaline (Nezzie for short).
She was about as nice as they come, and her cornbread was something to talk about.
Bass grew up hunting with his dad and granddad, and those mornings in the stand are where this company started. Every product is something he thought up out there and built to make the hunt a little better. Putting her name on it is a reminder of where he comes from and who he’s building it for: the people who’ll be sitting in those stands after us.
Designing With Purpose
Every product starts with a problem we’ve run into ourselves. If it doesn’t fix something, we don’t make it.
Heritage and Traditions
Nezzie is built on four generations of hunting. It’s something you learn from family, and our gear is made to strengthen those bonds.
